2N Washi Paper Table Lamp — a finely ribbed mulberry paper globe that draws inward and flares into an open skirt, standing on a slim black wire tripod. The paper's long natural fibers diffuse the bulb into a warm, even glow with no hot spot and no glare.

This lamp draws on a long East Asian tradition of paper-and-frame lighting, where a fine wire armature is wrapped by hand in mulberry paper (washi-style) — a strong, long-fibered paper prized for the way it filters light. Every rib is set and wrapped by hand, so each shade carries its own subtle folds and fiber texture. That handwork, and the way the globe narrows before opening out again at the hem, are what give it the presence of a small sculpture rather than an ordinary lamp.

The real advantage is the light itself. Bare bulbs and glass shades throw a hard, direct glare; mulberry paper spreads the same bulb into a soft, candle-warm wash across the whole globe — and because the skirt below is open at the hem, a warmer pool of light falls directly onto the surface the lamp stands on. How big is it, and where does it fit best?

It stands Dia 25 × H 43cm (9.8 × 16.9″) — a tall proportion on a small footprint. That combination is the point: it brings real height to a bedside table, a bookshelf, or a narrow entryway console without taking over the surface, which is exactly where most table lamps are too wide to work. The tripod legs splay slightly wider than the shade itself, so leave a touch of clearance at the base.

Why does the shade flare out at the bottom instead of being a plain globe?

The ribbed globe draws in at the waist and opens into a flared skirt, and that shape does two things at once. Visually it gives the lamp a waist and a lift, so it reads as a considered form rather than a ball sitting on legs. To be eligible for a return, you must submit your return request within this 30-day period. Unfortunately, we cannot process returns or exchanges for items delivered more than 30 days ago.

1.2 Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return, items must meet the following conditions:

The item is in its original, unused condition, with all original tags, labels, and packaging intact.
All accessories, manuals, and included components are complete and undamaged.
Items requiring assembly must be returned unassembled. Items that have been installed, have damaged wiring, or loose crystals are not eligible for return.

2. Exchange Policy

The fastest way to get the item you want is to first return the original item in accordance with this policy. Once your return is approved, you can place a new order for the desired item.

For exchanges due to product quality issues or shipping damage, we will cover all costs for returning the original item and shipping the new replacement.
For exchanges initiated for personal reasons, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost of the original item, as well as the full purchase price of the new item.

3. Order Cancellation

Customized Products: Once your order for a customized product is confirmed, it cannot be canceled, as we begin production immediately.
Non-Customized Products:
- You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it, free of charge.
- If you cancel after 24 hours but before your order has been shipped, a $50 handling fee will apply.
- Once your order has been shipped, it can no longer be canceled, and you will need to follow the return process outlined above.

What Makes Our Paper Lamps Different

Which size should I choose for my room and ceiling height?

Start with room size and ceiling height. The smaller globes (30–50 cm / 11.8″–19.7″) suit bedsides, reading corners, and small dining nooks. The mid sizes (55–70 cm / 21.7″–27.5″) fit standard dining tables and living rooms. The larger globes (75–120 cm / 29.5″–47.2″) are best for stairwells, entryways, and vaulted or double-height ceilings. For a dining table, aim for a globe about half to two-thirds of the table's longest side. Between two sizes? Go larger — an undersized globe reads as an afterthought, an oversized one reads as intentional.

Is the paper fragile? Will it tear easily?

No — the shade is made from mulberry paper, prized for over a thousand years for its natural strength and flexibility. Its long fibers make it far more resistant to tearing, yellowing, and warping than the ordinary rice paper used in many mass-market paper lamps, while still diffusing the soft, warm glow that makes a paper shade so inviting. That said, like all delicate handmade pieces, it should be handled gently when moving, dusting, or installing.

How long will a paper lamp last?

A well-made paper shade can last for many years. Longevity comes down to three things: build quality, the environment it lives in, and ongoing care. To extend its life, keep it in a space with stable, moderate humidity, away from open flames, candles, or high-heat sources, and dust it gently with a soft brush as needed. Pairing it with a low-heat LED bulb also helps protect the paper over time.

What kind of light does the mulberry paper shade give off?

The hand-wrapped mulberry paper diffuses the bulb into a soft, even, warm glow — closer to candlelight than to bare electric light. Instead of a hot glare point, the whole globe lights up gently. For the warmest effect, use a 2700K–3000K warm-white LED or Edison bulb.

What bulb does it use?

The pendant fits standard E26 / E27 bulbs, at AC 110–240V, so you can choose the bulb that best suits your space. A bulb is not included with the fixture itself. For the most flattering glow — and to protect the shade — we recommend a warm-white LED (2700K or lower), which emits minimal heat.

Is it hardwired or plug-in? Can I install it on a sloped ceiling?

The pendant is hardwired by default for a clean ceiling-mounted look and is compatible with both flat and sloped ceilings. We recommend installation by a qualified electrician into a ceiling junction box. A plug-in cord option is available upon request, making it a great choice for renters or spaces without existing wiring.

How do I clean and care for the shade?

Gently dust the surface with a soft, dry brush or feather duster. Avoid water, damp cloths, and cleaning sprays — moisture can warp the paper and leave permanent marks. For folds and seams, a soft makeup brush works well. Regular light dusting prevents buildup and keeps the shade looking its best.

Will it arrive damaged? Is assembly difficult?

Each shade ships folded flat and cushioned inside a rigid box to protect it in transit. On arrival, you simply ease the shade open by hand to its full round shape — no parts to build. From there it installs like any ceiling pendant: fit the bulb, connect the cord, and mount it. Most customers are done in minutes, and illustrated instructions are included.

Will each shade look slightly different?
