The Washi Paper Oval Pendant Light combines a graceful elongated silhouette with the warmth of handcrafted washi paper. Each shade is formed over a lightweight bamboo frame and wrapped by hand in translucent mulberry paper made from the inner bark of the paper mulberry tree. The natural fibers gently diffuse the light, creating a soft, ambient glow that brings warmth and balance to both modern and traditional interiors.
Every pendant is individually handcrafted using time-honored techniques. Bamboo ribs are shaped over custom wooden molds, then covered with carefully applied strips of mulberry washi paper. Once the paper has dried, the internal mold is removed, leaving behind a lightweight yet durable structure that can be collapsed flat for shipping and easily restored to its sculptural form during installation.
Available in three sizes, the Oval Pendant adapts effortlessly to different spaces—from compact dining areas and bedrooms to spacious dining rooms, living areas, lofts, and rooms with vaulted ceilings. Whether used as a subtle accent or a striking centerpiece, each size maintains the same soft, diffused illumination and timeless handcrafted character.
It runs on a standard E26/E27 bulb at 110–240V, hardwired by default with a plug-in cord option for renters, and is rated IP20 for indoor dry rooms.

Paper pendants have a reputation for arriving crushed. This one doesn't — it ships folded and cushioned, then opens into a clean round shade in seconds.
The shade travels folded flat inside a firm, padded box, so it's protected from the knocks that leave most paper lanterns dented or torn before they're even unpacked.
Ease the folded shade open by hand until it holds its full round shape — there are no parts to build or frames to slot together. From there it installs like any ceiling pendant: fit the bulb, connect the cord, and mount it to the ceiling.
Hardwired for a clean ceiling-mount look, or add a plug-in cord if you rent or don't have a junction box. The cord adjusts so you can hang it at the right height, and we can make it longer on request.

Switched off, the paper globe still earns its place — a soft, round shape that looks intentional in daylight, not like a lamp waiting to be turned on. The matte mulberry-paper surface catches light softly instead of reflecting it back.
Switched on, the whole globe fills with an even, candle-like glow. Because the light passes through countless natural paper fibers rather than a hard glass surface, there is no harsh glare point — just a warm wash of light that makes a dining table, bedroom, or reading corner feel calm and inviting. For the warmest effect, pair it with a 2700K–3000K warm-white LED or Edison bulb.
Three Sizes, One for Every Room
From a compact bedside globe to an oversized foyer statement — every size shares the same hand-wrapped mulberry paper and soft, even glow.
Add your room's length and width in feet, then read that total in inches as a rough guide to globe diameter. For a dining table, aim for a globe about half to two-thirds of the table's longest side. Between two sizes? Go larger — an undersized globe reads as an afterthought, an oversized one reads as intentional.

2. Exchange Policy

For exchanges due to product quality issues or shipping damage, we will cover all costs for returning the original item and shipping the new replacement.

For exchanges initiated for personal reasons, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost of the original item, as well as the full purchase price of the new item.

Customized Products: Once your order for a customized product is confirmed, it cannot be canceled, as we begin production immediately.
